In the last week or so I keep getting redirected to ad pages, ad pop-ups that lock up the page or get error messages. especially when I try to get to my PMs.

it seems to be the worst with IE but happens with Firefox and chrome too.
happens the least with chrome. it's happened at home and at work.

I use FF at home but at work we use several web queries that only work in IE (bad coding) and I have alot of excel macros that open web pages and of course excel being a MS product it only will open in IE.

never really liked chrome but atleast it's pretty small and clean, uses alot less cpu than IE or FF.

I don't get any of that dunnojs3 I use Firefox and the add-on, adblock plus 1.1.1

There's a thread at forumer.com where you can ask to be switched back to Google ads. Some are complaining of the same sort of problems. Hopefully, they'll see my reply and fix the problem.

Here's the thread:

found 2 rootkits on my old computer. not sure where they were picked up but it was recent. I redid the drive last week, including a partial low level format (first 300MB & last 100MB) so the boot sector and temp files were clean.

the joys of owning computers!

what kind of anti-malware/ant-virus software do you use? I have had excellent results using Spyware Blaster and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Mr. Green

active is Symantec Corporate
also have Spybot, RegRun Reannnimator, HiJackThis, and Partizan Rootkit Killer.

antivirus and antispyware won't catch rookits which is why Symantec didn't find anything. found them in HiJackThis but couldn't get rid of them but the rootkit killer got them.

think I figured out where the rootkits came from. my daughter was trying to watch Yu-Gi-Oh vidoes. I had bookmarked some safe streaming sites but she Googled it and went to some other site.
