| So, a friend of mine had a spare 21" monitor that I've been using since my monitor died and although I do see a little bit of performance drop with the higher resolution I kinda like the bigger screen.. |
When i switched from 1024x768 to 1920x1080 i expected a big drop, strangely i got a slight improvement with framerates maybe something to do with native resolutions? idk .. but i couldnt be happier with my 23" |

the drop I experienced wasn't huge but noticable and only after the gpu temp had a chance to get up there.
I dropped from very high with 2X AA to high and no AA on FC2.
that made it completely smooth again and really didn't look any different.
kinda interesting that you say that Ski, for the 1 day that I was using the 15" I decided to see what sort of frame rates I could get in Combat Arms. It wasn't really any higher than with the 19". haven't tried with the 21".
I still haven't switched back to my 19" yet , my friend doesn't need it and said I can use it as long as I want. maybe I'll just buy a new monitor and keep the 19" for a 3rd computer for my daughter. I have an AM2 board that I could use. I can get a 3.4 Ghz dual core (highest the board will take) for about $60 and a 4870 is just over $100 now. |
